Healthy Habits Day for Canaragua's #MareaAzul
- The participation of Marea Azul in the event boosts everyone's commitment to living healthily and practising sport.
- Berta Santana and Echedey Pérez shared their knowledge of the injuries runners can suffer and about participating in fitness tournaments.
On Saturday, 20 January 2018, more than 140 runners belonging to Canaragua's Marea Azul came together at the Elder Museum's functions room. Next day, they would be taking part in the Gran Canaria Marathon 2018. In a very relaxed atmosphere, the runners, many of them coming from other islands, met to collect their bibs
They then attended two talks on healthy habits. The first was given by the physiotherapist Berta Santana, who briefly outlined the most common injuries suffered by runners and tips to avoid them, household remedies for preventing them, etc., and answered the questions pitched by the audience.
The fitness coach Echedey Pérez then took over from Berta and talked about his experience as a participant in fitness tournaments, how a runner should approach a trial like the Gran Canaria Marathon, what to eat before the race... and provided answers to the runners' doubts and questions..
