Proud sponsors of the Breña Alta Storytelling Festival for another year

  • A festival enjoyed by children from the town's schools, featuring three narrative performances

The 11th Breña Alta Storytelling Festival is held during the month of November. The Festival will have a distinct international flavour, with nine outstanding storytellers from France, Mexico, Brazil and Spain. The event is organized by the Town Council and the Island Council with the support of Canaragua, among others.

Héctor Ruiz Verde, from Tenerife, will give a recital about Gloria Fuertes at Casa Panchito; at the same venue, Anna Larat-Lini, from France, will present her water tales, and Marta Escudero, from Mexico, will take a story session to the Sociedad Atlántida. The children who will listen to the stories are pupils at the following schools: CEIP Buenavista, CEIP Breña, CEIP Botazo, CEIP Manuel Galván de las Casas, CEIP Miranda, IES Villa de Mazo and CEIP Princesa Arecida, also in Villa de Mazo.

The festival will end on 19 November, in the Jardín de Naldo (meeting point in Plaza Bujaz), with breakfast coffee and sunrise stories featuring Benita Prieto, Marta Escudero and Ernesto Rodríguez Abad. This literary event will render posthumous tribute to Raimundo Concepción Machín, popularly known as Naldo, in recognition of his selfless dedication to cultural promotion in Breña Alta
